| The Kart Shop was formed in 2001 by father & son, Peter & David Catt. Peter became involved in karting as a 'karting dad' for his son David who had enjoyed success in karting, winning championships at both club and national levels. With the success of the shop they decided to expand its activities and from this The Kart Shop Race Team evolved. David left 'The Kart Shop' in December 2009 due to family commitments. Peter's was joined in 2010 by Simon Davidson and Paul Saffery. Simon has been involved with karting for many years, both as a driver and a very well respected mechanic/driver coach. Paul is another one of those 'karting dads' who became involved with karting and The Kart Shop when his son Jack started racing in Mini Max in 2004 and who now races for the team in Senior Max. The Kart Shop is conveniently located adjacent to the Circuit Reception at Buckmore Park Kart Circuit, Chatham, Kent (only 10mins from the M25). The shop is open Monday to Thursday from 9am to 6pm (or by arrangement), Fridays and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm, and during Sunday race meetings from 7am onwards.
